Anya Volz is a New York City-based comedian originally born in Vermont. Her stand-up comedy has been described as surprisingly funny and also not preached by males from all over America. Her father was an Argentine and has Scottish and English roots. Her mother's ancestry is Spanish as well as English. Taylor-Joy, who is youngest of five children, four were born to Taylor's father's previous marriage. They lived within Buenos Aires until she was six, after which they moved to the Victoria area in London. Taylor-Joy stated that the move had been painful, and she refused to go back to school in English in the hope of be able to return to Argentina. Hill House became her school that she chose after being required to switch schools. Later, she enrolled at Queen's Gate School in which she took ballet classes and was involved in school productions. She quit high school at 16 to pursue an acting profession. Taylor-Joy's desire to become an actor of professional caliber began at a very young age.
